Dear friends and supporters,

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • We just got back from a powerful couple of days at the Othering & Belonging Conference in California, where we led a breakout session Seeding a Global Network for Migration and Belonging as well as hosted a screening of From Here. It was amazing to be around 2000 people from around the US and world committed to using a frame of belonging to advance justice and peace.
  • On March 26th, we premiered a new short film – The Right to have Rights, with a powerful launch event at Aquarium at Südblock. It will be hitting the road soon!
  • In March and April, we offered two workshops on Anti-Roma Racism in partnership with Nachtbarschafthaus Neukolln and Deutsche Schulportal

From Here Screening + Live Q&A

On May 16th FROM HERE, will be screened in Seattle at Northwest Film Forum, accompanied by composer Alex Guy and a string trio with a live score. A q&a with the director/composer, and a reception will follow.

As many of you know, FROM HERE was originally set to premiere in March of 2020 in London but the pandemic moved the film’s premieres online, including the one in my hometown of Seattle. After several years screening in more than 25 festivals, we are finally hosting our in-person Seattle premiere featuring a special feature to make it worth the wait – a performance of the original score, composed by my amazingly talented friend, Alex Guy on viola, accompanied by a violin, and cello.

Following the screening we will do a q&a and have a light reception. This will be a one of a kind of event, as well as a special homecoming event for the film. We hope you will join us and spread the word.

Report back from Othering & Belonging Conference in Oakland, U.S. and Streaming
📆 25. – 27 April 2024
📍Oakland (U.S.)

We were thrilled to be able to offer two events as part of this years Othering and Belonging Conference. In addition to a film screening, we offered a workshop: Seeding a Global Network for Migration and Belonging, during which we invited panelists and participants to consider what might be possible if we take a more integrated and global approach to the question of migration: can we see our movements for liberation as united in advancing an expansive vision of belonging? We will be collaborating with Building Belonging and the Democracy and Belonging Forum to launch a network this year, and can’t wait to share more.

Check out some highlights from the conference here.
